It’s the most wonderful time of the year…COUGH, COUGH!   Ugh.  Every year at this time I seem to pick up a little cold but this year both my husband and I were taken out by what we’re calling THE PLAGUE.  We had to cancel our friends and neighbors on Thanksgiving and send the food to our friends’ house who were amazing pinch hitters.

Thankfully, we’re much better but it’s definitely thrown a wrench in our flip house reno schedule.  The best-laid plans….

Our favorite handyman (my Stepdad) has been hard at work at the flip house taking care of all little things that need to be done before the big stuff can be started.  Switch plates off, small nail holes being repaired so the painting can begin and a general cleanup.  I don’t know what we’d do without him!

As I write this I’m mentally going through the house so I can get an idea of paint colors.  Do I do everything in the same neutral off-white so whoever makes this their forever home can customize it?  Do I go with some of the colors I would pick, like a blue for the kitchen and a soft gray for the living/dining room?  Decisions, decisions.  I’d appreciate any feedback you want to give me.  I’ve started the pink bedroom in gray and so far I’m liking it.  I’m also looking at exterior colors but we won’t need that for a while.

When I’m out showing houses to potential buyers I hear that the kitchen and the layout of the home are important.  This house has a great floor plan and once we open the kitchen up just a little I think it will be perfect.

What are you looking for in your next home?

shades of gray

So long, bye-bye pink

Cindy Duane

Fueled first by a Disney addiction that brought her to Central Florida, and then further inspired by her first visit to Mount Dora, Cindy Duane and her husband Mike were compelled to migrate with their two pups and daughter Kelsey, from her West Haven, Connecticut home to the quaint Florida town that so reminded her of her New England roots. Once officially a local, it took no time for her to experience a calling to help others find their new home in Florida’s Golden Triangle. Little did she realize how many New England family and friends would visit, some to eventually relocate to the area. Cindy brings her years of customer service and sales experience with her to The Pierce Team at Watson Realty Corp./Mount Dora. Cindy Duane and her husband, family, and friends love boating the Harris Chain of Lakes, volunteering in Mount Dora’s renowned festivals, and enjoying the area’s many live music events. Her love of the authentic charm of Mount Dora, Tavares, and Eustis and for the wonders of Central Florida are evidenced by Cindy Duane’s enthusiasm to help you find your new home.
